Should You Worry About the CoronaVirus?

Yesterday, stock markets around the world experienced significant drops due to increases in the Coronavirus outside of China.

A few you may be concerned about the implications on your portfolio and what can be expected in the future. To answer, I have absolutely no idea what its impact will be in the near future. Based on a lot of research that I've done over the years I can be fairly confident in my feelings that no one else does either (although many “Experts” will suggest otherwise).

Based on history (check out the chart below) it seems that it will likely have little or no impact in the big picture.

We often close a story like this using a quote from the grand master on investing Warren Buffet and that seems appropriate here.

-"We've long felt that the only value of stock forecasters is to make fortune tellers look good. Even now, Charlie and I continue to believe that short-term market forecasts are poison and should be kept locked up in a safe place, away from children and also from grown-ups who behave in the market like children."
